My goal is to provide practical solutions that can improve movement, reduce discomfort and boost your lifestyle
Dr. Karen Pain
(Osteopath)
Originally from the UK, I brought my passion for holistic health to Australia nearly two decades ago, settling first in Melbourne where I enhanced my Sports Science background with five years of specialised osteopathic training at Victoria University. My journey into osteopathy began as a patient—experiencing firsthand the transformative benefits of this hands-on approach.
My commitment to patient care drives me to continuously expand my expertise. Beyond my core osteopathic qualifications, I've developed specialised skills in Pilates instruction, dry needling, therapeutic massage, and personalised exercise prescription. My ongoing professional development includes advanced studies in women's health, chronic pain management, the mind-body connection, and functional training techniques.
What I value most is building meaningful relationships with my patients. I tailor each treatment plan to individual needs, drawing from a diverse toolkit that includes both gentle manipulations and articulations for those who benefit from direct intervention, as well as softer indirect approaches for others. My holistic approach extends to patient education, movement coaching, and appropriate referrals when necessary—all focused on helping you achieve your health and wellbeing goals.
Outside the clinic, I am kept busy with family time and a love of the outdoors. You might find me at the beach, exploring hiking trails, enjoying the snow, or savouring good food and a glass or two of something tasty with friends. My faithful sidekick, Walter the dog, is usually leading the way on outdoor excursions, his enthusiasm matching my own. I stay energised with regular Pilates classes and early morning gym sessions—they may be hard to start, but I never regret it once completed.
